The Red Lion, Adderbury

A magnificent coaching inn steeped in history, overlooking the village green in this, one of the most beautiful of Oxfordshire villages.

Luxuriously appointed and sympathetically maintained in the finest traditional manner, with a wealth of old oak and stone chimney pieces of considerable interest to lovers of our English heritage. Be prepared to duck low beams and meander narrow door and hallways.   Long hidden features discovered during restoration indicate that, this ancient Royalist owned hostelry dates from before the Civil War. A list of landlords has been proudly retained since 1690 and is displayed in the bar where, traditional ales and fine wines are served from cool cellars and stone vaults.

Restaurant

The Red Lion serves the finest of English and Continental country fayre in a restaurant of character, whilst the kitchens are fitted with the most modern equipment in pursuit of excellence by our Chef and his team.  The Restaurant is of withstanding quality on two distinct levels, seats 44 guests in total comfort and was once unrecognisably The Bake House and The Brewery.

Functions

The Function Room is available for the smaller occasion; seminars, board meetings or private and more intimate parties, with seating of up to 12, whilst the restaurant is available to accommodate the larger gathering. These facilities are also available for business and social functions, wedding receptions and dinner parties.

12 comfortable en-suite bedrooms, each with individual character. All have modern facilities.
